Praveen Provision Store

Praveen Provision Store has been sitting at 3-46 on BH Road for quite some time now. It is a small space but we try to keep it filled with everything a kitchen might need. If you walk down BH Road in Chikkanayakana Halli, you will see our shop right there. We spend most of our mornings unpacking crates of milk and arranging packets of biscuits on the shelves. It is not a fancy place with bright lights or glass displays. We just have sturdy wooden shelves and a heavy counter where we weigh out the dal and rice. The floor is simple concrete and we spend a lot of time sweeping out the dust that blows in from the main road. Most of the people who come in are our neighbors from around 3-46. They usually want a specific brand of tea or maybe just some sugar for their morning coffee. In the afternoons when it gets really hot, we keep the overhead fan running and things slow down a bit. Then in the evening, the shop gets busy again when people are coming back from work. We recognize almost everyone who walks through the door. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell people to come back tomorrow after the delivery truck arrives. It is a very normal way to spend the day, just talking to people and making sure the jars are full. BH Road is always noisy with traffic but inside the store it feels more familiar.
