You can usually smell the fresh bread and sweets from the bakery while we are waiting for the next call to come in. Being near the Sidlagatta Circle means we can get out to the main roads pretty quickly, though the traffic at the circle can be a real mess during the middle of the day. Chickballapur is a busy spot, and B B Road is basically the heart of it. We spend a lot of time sitting in the front of the vehicles or in the small office area nearby. The phone is the most important thing here; when it rings, everything changes in a second. We’ve got a few different vans and we try to keep them as clean as possible, which is hard with all the dust from the road. Our drivers know these backstreets like the back of their hands. It’s not a fancy office job, that’s for sure. We see a lot of difficult situations, but it’s just the nature of the work we do.
