S L V Traders is up on the first floor of a building at 943 Npo Road in Chikkaballapur. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs if you’re carrying anything heavy, but we’ve gotten used to it. The road outside is usually full of people and vendors, so there is always something to look at if you stand by the window for a minute. We share the building with a few other businesses, so you hear doors opening and closing all day long. The office is pretty cramped with all the stock we keep around, but we manage to find what we need eventually. It’s not the most organized place in the world, with boxes stacked up in the corners and ledgers piled on the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street. Chikkaballapur can get quite dusty, and we are constantly wiping down the counters. We’ve been at this location for a few years and most of the other shop owners on Npo Road are friendly enough. We usually start the day early before the sun gets too high and the street gets too crowded. It’s a basic setup, really. We have a small area for making coffee and a couple of chairs for guests, though they usually end up covered in paperwork. We just keep our heads down and try to keep everything running smoothly without too much trouble.
