Amratlal & Company

Amratlal & Company has been operating out of 8, Gopichetti Street for quite some time. Thirupathraipaliyur is an old area, and our building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. We aren't into the modern way of doing things with lots of flash and noise. Our day is mostly spent handling orders and making sure the inventory is where it should be. The street is narrow, so when we get a delivery, it’s always a bit of a scramble to get everything inside quickly so we don't block the way. We deal with a lot of heavy items, so there’s a fair bit of lifting and carrying involved. Our desks are old and covered in papers and sample jars. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, open the doors, and do the work that needs doing. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We know our regulars well; they know which chair to sit in while they wait for their order to be put together. It’s a bit dusty, and the floors are worn down from years of feet walking over them, but it’s home to us. We just aim to be reliable and keep things moving. We’re just a bunch of people working on Gopichetti Street, trying to do an honest day's work and stay busy in Thirupathraipaliyur.
