Our office is over in Basant Colony on Narsinghpur Road in Chhindwara. It is a pretty decent spot, though the traffic on Narsinghpur Road can get backed up during the afternoons when schools let out. We have been working out of this space for some time now. It is not a big corporate building, just a regular office where we handle the construction paperwork and take calls. Inside, there are desks covered in blueprints and pens that never seem to work when you actually need them. We spend a lot of our time talking to workers and trying to figure out why materials are running late. That is just how the construction business goes around here. People from the colony walk by and sometimes stop to say hello or ask about a project. Chhindwara is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, so we do not feel like strangers. We drink a lot of tea throughout the day to keep ourselves going. The walls have a few maps of the local area pinned up so we can keep track of where we have projects. It’s a bit dusty because of the road outside, but we do not mind it. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny lobby or fancy coffee. We just want to get the jobs done so we can move on to the next one. Our routine is simple. We open up, check the schedules, and handle whatever problems come up. (249 words)
