This place is in Belgaon, which is part of the Sausar area in Chhindwara. We operate out of Ramrao Mahale’s place. It’s a local operation focused on handicrafts, what we call hastshilp around here. Chhindwara is a quiet place compared to the big cities. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages. We spend our days dealing with traditional crafts. It’s hands-on work. There isn't much automation; it’s mostly about what people can make with their own fingers. Sometimes the materials arrive late because the roads aren't great, but we get by. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s more like a group of us trying to keep these traditions going while earning a living. The office part is just a small room with some files and a phone. We talk to the artisans and figure out what needs to be made next. The weather here can be unpredictable, which affects the work sometimes. Especially during the rains, everything slows down. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. If someone needs to find us, they usually ask around in Sausar. It’s a simple way of working. We just focus on the items we produce and hope they find good homes. It keeps the community busy and gives us something to do every day.
