Erappa Bagale & Co.

Our place is near Raitha Bhawan in Gandhi Ganj. If you know the area, you know it is all about the trade and the farmers. We are right there in the middle of it. Erappa Bagale & Co. has been operating out of this spot for a long time. The street is usually dusty from all the trucks carrying produce in and out of the Ganj. We have a big open space where we keep the bags and do the weighing. It is a very loud environment with people shouting prices and laborers moving heavy loads on their backs. We don't have air conditioning or fancy chairs. Most of the time we are standing up or sitting on wooden stools talking to people who come in from the villages. Life in Gandhi Ganj starts very early, often before the sun is even up properly. By noon, we are usually covered in a bit of dust from whatever grain is being moved that day. We keep our records in thick books and try to stay on top of the daily market rates. It is hard work and the days are long, but it is what we know. Being near Raitha Bhawan means we see a lot of different people every day. It is just a straightforward trading business where we focus on the task at hand without any extra fuss or unnecessary talk.
