Ambulance - janani Suraksha Yojana

We operate the Ambulance - janani Suraksha Yojana out of Tamia. It’s a small place and everyone pretty much knows where everything is already. Being in a spot like Tamia means we are a bit far from the big city centers, but that’s exactly why we stay here. The local community relies on having someone nearby. Our setup is very basic. We don’t have a big fancy office or a lot of staff in suits. It’s just a practical operation meant to help people get where they need to go when they aren't feeling well. The roads around here can be a bit winding and rough, so we spend a good amount of time making sure the vehicles are holding up okay. We don't go in for big speeches or polished brochures. Most people find out about us just by word of mouth in the village or seeing the ambulance parked in its usual spot. It’s a quiet life in Tamia for the most part, until the phone rings. We try to be ready no matter what time it is. The building we use is just an old one that serves its purpose. We don't bother with much painting or fixing up the outside as long as the inside is clean and the engines start. It’s just how things are done here, no fuss and no extra stuff that isn't necessary for the job. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
