Our setup here in Nagpur is over at 7 Prabhu Nagar. Being right on the Middle Ring Road in New Nandanvan means it’s pretty easy for people to find us, though the traffic can be a real headache in the afternoons. It gets incredibly hot here in the summer, so the air conditioning is usually running full blast from March until the rains come. This branch of Lafarge India P.Ltd isn’t very big. It’s just a handful of us working at our desks, surrounded by stacks of documents and ledgers. We spend most of our time coordinating supplies and talking to folks on the phone. It’s a practical space. We’ve got some old chairs and a big table where we have our lunch together. Sometimes we bring in oranges when they are in season since Nagpur is famous for them. We’ve been at this address for a bit and the locals know us by now. The Ring Road is always busy with trucks and cars, so there’s a constant hum of engines outside our window. It’s not the quietest place to work, but it feels like we are right in the middle of everything. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist. If you walk in, you’ll probably just see one of us hunched over a computer. We just try to keep things moving and get our daily lists finished before it's time to go home.
