Mabunjari Sttel Plant

Working at Mabunjari Sttel Plant means being out in Korba, specifically in the Ompur and Rajgamar area of Chhattisgarh. It is not an easy job. A steel plant is hot, loud, and there is always a layer of grit on everything. We don’t have fancy offices with carpets. Our floors are concrete and the walls are just there to keep the rain off the equipment. People here work in shifts. You’ll see guys in heavy boots and dusty clothes coming and going at all hours. It’s the kind of place where you learn to speak loudly just to be heard over the noise of the machinery. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how the place looks. It’s an industrial site, plain and simple. We focus on the metal and making sure the furnaces are doing what they are supposed to do. Chhattisgarh gets incredibly hot in the summer, and inside the plant, it’s even worse, so we drink a lot of water and just try to get through the day. We don't have a marketing department writing nice things about us. We just have a lot of hard-working people who know how to handle steel. The road out to Rajgamar can be bumpy, but trucks are always moving in and out with loads. It’s just raw work, day in and day out, making sure the plant keeps running like it should for everyone involved.
