K-100 in the Waluj MIDC area is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s a standard industrial plot that we’ve made our own over the years. The street outside is usually lined with parked bikes and the occasional tempo waiting to load up. Inside, the noise is constant. Between the lathes and the grinders, you usually have to shout to be heard. We’ve got a small mezzanine where we keep some of the lighter supplies and the old records. The stairs are a bit steep and creaky, so we don't go up there more than we have to. Most of the action happens on the ground floor. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with metal scraps and oil rags, but we try to sweep up at the end of every Friday. We don’t have a big sign with lights, just the plot number painted on the wall near the entrance. The local canteen delivers lunches for some of the guys, which is the highlight of the day for many. We don't spend money on decorating or making the place look corporate. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We take the orders as they come and try to stay on top of the maintenance so nothing breaks down at the wrong time. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we know. We just keep moving forward one day at a time.
