I work out of Aurangpura, doing hair and makeup for brides and local families. It’s a busy life, especially when the wedding season starts and everyone wants to look their best. Namrata Suryavanshi Bridal Makeup Artists & Hair Dresser is just me and sometimes an assistant if there are too many people to handle. My kit is always packed with different brushes, lipsticks, and hairpins. I spend a lot of time on my feet, leaning over to get the eyeliner just right or working on a complicated hairstyle. Aurangpura is a central spot, so I get people coming in from all over. It isn't a huge salon with dozens of chairs; it is more personal than that. I talk to the girls about what they like and what will work for their big day. There is a lot of pressure when it’s a wedding, but I’ve been doing this long enough that I don't get nervous anymore. The lighting has to be just right, so I’m always adjusting my lamps. I don't use fancy slogans to describe what I do. I just use my hands and the tools I have to help people get ready for their events. Sometimes the mornings start at four or five if a bride has an early ceremony. It is tiring but seeing someone happy with how they look makes the long hours feel okay. I just keep my space organized and try to stay updated on the latest styles people are asking for these days.
