Alankar Gents Parlour

Our shop, Alankar Gents Parlour, is located in Dashmesh Nagar over in the Jyoti Nagar area. We are quite easy to find since we are right near the SBI Bank branch. You usually see a line of people outside the bank and then a few coming over to us while they wait or after they finish their work there. The space isn't very large, just enough for three chairs and some space to move around. We have an old ceiling fan that wobbles a little but it does the job. Most of the men around here come in every two or three weeks. We have some pictures of different haircuts on the wall, though they are quite old and some are peeling at the edges. The floor is a bit worn down from people walking in and out all day long. We keep the razors and scissors on a small wooden trolley between the chairs. It’s a bit noisy because of the traffic near the bank, but you get used to it after a while. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come in and the chairs are full, you just sit on the bench and wait your turn. Sometimes we talk about the cricket scores or the local news while working. It’s a very straightforward place for a haircut or a shave. Nothing fancy, just the basics and a place to sit for a bit.
