Sundram Gift And Steel Furniture is located right near the SBI main branch on Mahal Road. It’s a pretty easy place to find if you know where the bank is. We sell a mix of stuff, from small gift items to the bigger steel chairs and cupboards. It might seem like a weird combination, but people need both. The shop is usually full of inventory. We try to keep the steel pieces tucked in the back so there’s room for the smaller things up front. My family has been involved in this for a while. Mahal Road gets pretty crowded during the day, especially with everyone going to the bank. We see a lot of people just passing through. Sometimes they stop in to look at a wardrobe and end up buying a small gift instead. The floor is concrete and we don’t have any fancy decorations. It's just a practical space for selling furniture and gifts. Dealing with steel furniture is heavy work. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks. It gets dusty, but that’s part of the trade. We aren’t trying to be the biggest store in town, just a reliable place where you can get a decent chair or a present for a friend. If the doors are open, we’re here. We don't really do much advertising. Most of our customers are just people who live nearby or saw us while they were at the SBI branch.
