You can find us at S-21A on the first floor of the building on Khasra No.712/1 Min in Hargovind Enclave, Chhatarpur. We are up one flight of stairs. The foundation focuses on habitat issues, which basically means we care about how and where people live. It is not just about houses, but the whole environment around them. Chhatarpur is a place with a lot of history, but also a lot of needs when it comes to modern living spaces. We are not architects or big developers. We are just a group concerned with smart ways to handle our local habitat. The office is pretty simple, with a few desks and some stacks of paper. We spend a lot of time out in the field looking at different sites. We do not have any fancy brochures or a PR team. Most people find out about us through word of mouth. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to stop work for a bit, but that is just how it goes here. We are not trying to sound like a big NGO. We are just local people who think we can do better with how our neighborhoods are set up. It is slow work and it takes a lot of patience. We just keep plugging away at it, one small project at a time. It is practical, honest work for our community.
