Devei Aqua

Working at No. 6 Wandawasi Road is always an experience. Being on a road like this means there’s always something happening outside. Devei Aqua has been here for a bit, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the traffic. Most of our work involves water systems and everything that goes with it. The back area is where we keep the heavy equipment, and it’s usually pretty wet back there. We’ve all slipped at least once, even with the rubber mats down. It’s a practical place, not something meant for looking pretty. We have a desk near the front that’s mostly covered in delivery slips and old pens that don’t always work. The walls are a pale blue, which felt right given what we do. It’s usually just a couple of us here during the day. We spend a lot of time checking the gauges and making sure everything is flowing like it should. When a customer comes in, they usually have a specific problem they need help with. We don’t use a lot of big words to explain things. We just show them what needs to be fixed. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet. The evenings are usually when we get to sit down for a bit and catch up on the paperwork. By the time we lock up, the road has finally started to quiet down a little bit.
