World Bank

Our office is located in Velachery, Chennai, right behind the TCS building. This area has changed a lot over the years with all the big companies moving in. Even though the name on the door says World Bank, the day-to-day feel here is just like any other busy office in Tamilnadu. We have people coming in and out, and there is always a hum of computers running. Being behind TCS makes it easy for people to find us, though the traffic in Velachery can be a bit of a nightmare during rush hour. We spend a lot of time at our desks. The office layout is pretty standard, with rows of chairs and some small cabins for meetings. It’s not the kind of place you see in movies; it’s just people doing their jobs and drinking coffee from the machine. We have some plants in the corner that someone remembers to water once in a while. Outside, you can hear the sounds of the city and the construction that never seems to end. We try to keep things organized, but there are always piles of documents somewhere. It is a professional environment, but we still have our jokes and our lunch breaks together. It’s just a regular part of the neighborhood for us now. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and we know the local tea shops well. That's about it for our office life.
