Vovnath Hardware

Our shop is at 51/66 Devraj-Mudali Street. It is one of those old streets where every building is packed tightly together. We have been here for a long time, selling hardware and all the little bits and pieces people need for their home repairs. The space is pretty small and we have wooden shelves reaching all the way to the high ceiling. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for because there is just so much stuff tucked away in the back corners. We know where most of it is, though, even if it looks like a mess to anyone else. It’s a family-run kind of thing, very simple and basic. We don't have fancy lights or a big neon sign. People just know the address and walk in. It gets very crowded on this street during the day, with handcarts and people moving all over the place. We open up the shutters early and stay until the sun goes down. We talk to the same neighbors every day and see the same faces. It’s a lot of heavy metal, tools, and boxes of screws. We don't do any big marketing; we just rely on people walking by or coming back because they’ve bought from us before. It’s a bit dusty and cramped, but it’s home for us. We just like being part of the local market life. There is always some kind of noise or shouting happening on the street.
