Our business is based at 14 Shaik Alik Subedar Street in the Periamet area. It is a part of town where everyone seems to be involved in the same kind of trade, so there is a lot of talking between shops. Our building is an old one, and it has those high ceilings that help a bit with the heat during the summer months. Inside, the space is divided between the office area and where we keep our stock. We have rows of shelves that go all the way to the top, and we usually need a ladder to reach the older files or samples. The staff here is like a small family; we have seen each other's kids grow up and we know each other's habits. We do not do much in the way of advertising; people usually find us because they have heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. Our day consists of a lot of loading and unloading, checking invoices, and making sure the orders are accurate. It is not glamorous work, but it is honest and it keeps us occupied. When the sun goes down, the street gets a little quieter and that is usually when we finish up our paperwork. We have been here for a long time and we don't plan on moving anywhere else soon.
