Our office is tucked into the building, and it’s usually full of the sounds from the street outside. We aren't a big, cold corporation. We’re just a group of people working in a space filled with paper stacks and old-fashioned calculators. We run chit funds, which is basically helping local people save and borrow money within their own groups. It’s a system that has worked for years, so we don't try to change it too much. We don't have a receptionist in a suit or a fancy waiting lounge. You just walk in, find a chair, and we talk about your account. Sometimes it’s a bit cramped when several people come in at once, but we manage. We handle all the collections and the auctions right here. It’s about being honest with people and keeping the records straight. We don't use those slick slogans you see on billboards. We just do the work, day in and day out. The heat in Chennai can be a lot, and the traffic is never-ending, but we’ve grown used to it. We like being part of the Purasawalkam buzz. It’s a practical place for a practical business, and that suits our team just fine.
