Strive Exports

Our place is right near the East Railway Gate in Villivakkam. We are at No 28/2 in Avvai Nagar. You can hear the trains passing by all day long. You get used to the noise after a while. We do exports. It’s a lot of trying to find the right buyers and making sure the goods are up to scratch. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be very organized with our storage. If we get a big shipment in, it’s hard to move around the office for a few days. We started this because we wanted to do something for ourselves. It’s been a lot of learning. We’ve made mistakes with the paperwork before, but we don't do that anymore. Villivakkam is a good place for us because it’s well-connected. We spend a lot of time checking the cargo at the railway station or the port. It’s mostly just making sure things get from point A to point B. We don't use any fancy talk. We just tell people what we have and what it costs. Most of our day is spent on the computer or on the phone. It’s a bit repetitive, but we like seeing the products finally head out on the trucks. Sometimes we have tea with the gatekeeper. It’s just a normal way to earn a living. We keep trying to improve how we pack things.
