Our place is over in Nerkundram at No. 86, 1/263 in Pallavan Nagar. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but we’ve gotten used to it. Venus Chemicals Flavours & India is what it says on the sign. We spend our days dealing with different containers and smells. Sometimes the whole street probably knows what we’re working on based on the scent in the air. It’s not always easy work, keeping everything organized and making sure the supplies are where they need to be. The space we have is filled with barrels and jars. We’ve been here for a bit now, just doing our thing. It’s a local operation, nothing too fancy. The floor usually has a bit of dust on it and we’re always looking for more shelf space. We don’t really have a sales team or anything like that. Usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone when it rings. We’ve had some long days when a big order comes in and we’re all hands on deck. Nerkundram has its own rhythm, and we’re just a small part of it. Most of the people around here know us by now. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the real work happens out on the floor with the materials. It's a practical job and we just get on with it every morning. It can be tiring, but we are used to the routine.
