You’ll find us at Plot No A-30, D-5, in Phase-2 of the MEPZ-SEZ out in Tambaram. Working in a Special Economic Zone like this is a bit different from a regular city office. You have to go through the big gates and the security checks every morning, which can be a bit of a drag if the line is long. Our spot here is quite large because Venture Lighting India Ltd needs the space for all the equipment and the assembly lines. It’s an industrial vibe, for sure. There’s the constant hum of machines and the smell of metal and flux in the air. The ceilings are high, and we use a lot of overhead lighting, naturally. Most of our staff comes in on the company buses or bikes, so there’s a big rush at the start and end of shifts. We have a small canteen area where we sit and talk about anything except work during our breaks. It’s not a quiet place, but you get used to the background noise after a few days. We don’t have much in the way of decoration on the walls, just some calendars and safety notices. It’s a practical environment where the focus is on the floor and what’s being put together. Sometimes it’s exhausting, especially when we have a big shipment deadline, but the team here is solid and we just get on with it together. It is mostly about the rhythm of the production line.
