Sunfluoro Seals

Out here in Vengaivasal, things are a bit quieter than the city center, but Bharathi Nagar Ist Main Road is still pretty active. Our workshop at No. 1/372B is where we spend most of our daylight hours. At Sunfluoro Seals, we deal with a lot of rubber and specialized materials that have a very specific smell when you first open the bags. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the piles of offcuts on the floor. The lighting isn't great in the back corner, so we use a couple of desk lamps to see what we’re doing. We’ve got some old machinery that needs a bit of a kick to start sometimes, but it still works fine for the seals we make. Most of the guys here have been working together for a long time, so we don't talk much, we just get on with it. We keep a tally on a chalkboard near the door of how many pieces we’ve finished. Usually, the Ist Main Road gets busy around 5 PM, so we try to get our shipments out before the traffic builds up. The tea lady comes by twice a day, and that’s when we actually take a break. It’s steady work, nothing too exciting, just making sure the pieces fit like they’re supposed to. We keep the front door open for the breeze, even if it brings in some flies from the street.
