Velavan Merchandise

Our place is situated at No 5 Arcot Road. It’s part of the Alwarthirunagar Annexe area. If you know Chennai, you know how Arcot Road can get with all the buses and cars. Velavan Merchandise has been operating from this building for a bit now. We spend our mornings sorting through stock and checking what came in the day before. The room is usually filled with boxes and the smell of packing tape. It is a bit cramped, but we make it work. We aren't a big company with many departments. It is just a few of us handling the merchandise and talking to whoever walks through the door. The annexe is a bit quieter than the main road, which is nice when we need to focus. We have a routine where one of us goes out to get coffee for everyone around eleven. Usually, we just keep our heads down and work through the lists. The shelves are always full, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go on this street, but we’re still here doing our thing. It’s a decent spot, close enough to everything we need. We don’t spend much on decorations; we just keep the essentials. It’s honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until evening. We hope to stay here for many more years.
