You’ll find us at 27, Erulappan Street in Sowcarpet. If you’ve ever been to Sowcarpet, you know it’s a maze of narrow streets and constant activity. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal in all sorts of electrical goods. It’s a small place, and every inch of wall space is covered with switches, wires, and sockets. We have to be clever about how we stack things so we don't run out of room. The street outside is always noisy with carts, scooters, and people shouting to get through, but we’ve been here so long we barely notice it anymore. We start our day by pulling up the shutters and setting out a few items on the front step to show we’re open. Most of our customers are locals or contractors who have been coming to us for years because they know we usually have that odd piece they need. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements. Word of mouth is how people find Erulappan Street. We spend the day fetching items from high shelves and chatting with whoever walks in. It’s a very manual way of doing things, but it works for us. By the time evening rolls around, we’re usually pretty tired, but there’s a good feeling in finishing a day’s work in such a lively neighborhood. We just try to keep the shop running smoothly and help out whoever comes through the door with their electrical problems.
