Akshaya Aqua Farms

We spend most of our days out here on Vayalur Road in Ulundai Village. It is quite a drive out near the Perambakkam Highway, but it is where the space is for what we do at Akshaya Aqua Farms. We have been working these ponds for a while now in Thiruvallur. Most mornings start before the sun is really up because that is when the water is right and the work needs doing. It is not fancy work, just a lot of checking on things and making sure everything stays healthy. Some days the heat is pretty tough out here, but we just keep at it. People usually find us by looking for the turn-off near the highway. We have a small crew and we mostly just stick to our routine. It is quiet for the most part, except when we are moving stock or cleaning out the tanks. There is always something that needs fixing or a pipe that starts leaking, so someone is always busy with a wrench or a net. We are not trying to be the biggest place around, just trying to keep the farm running like it should. Living and working in this part of Thiruvallur means you get used to the dust and the long days, but it is what we know. We just focus on the water and the fish and making sure we get things done before it gets too dark to see.
