We’ve been around Palani for a good while now, mostly working out of our spot in Mathanapuram. It’s usually hot here, especially down in Adivaram, so we try to get started early before the sun gets too high. People know where we are, right near 164. We do building stuff. Mostly houses or small walls, sometimes fixing things that broke during the rains. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the cement delivery is late because of the traffic near the temple area, but we manage. My cousin helps me with the accounts, though he's more into his phone than the ledgers. We have a few guys who've been with us for years. They know how I like things done. We don't really have a big office, just a desk and a couple of chairs where we sit and talk about the next job. You might see our truck parked out front near the hill. It’s got a bit of a dent on the bumper from when Ravi backed into a pole last year. Anyway, we just handle whatever construction comes our way in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we started. More houses going up every month. We just keep our heads down and finish the work we've got in front of us. It’s a decent life here in Palani, and we’re glad to be a part of it.
