You can find Planet Exim at No. 19 Mathavar Road in Vadapalani. It’s quite a busy area, especially when the weather is hot and everyone is trying to move their goods at the same time. We spend most of our time inside the warehouse area, sorting through items and making sure they are ready for export. Mathavar Road can be a bit of a challenge for the bigger lorries, but we’ve learned the best times for them to arrive so they don't get stuck in the Vadapalani traffic. Our office is just a small corner of the building with a couple of desks and a lot of folders. We don't really do much in the way of marketing or advertising; most people just hear about us through word of mouth or see our trucks around. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving things, so we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which is pretty much the most important piece of equipment we own. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that, we just want to make sure the boxes are taped up tight and they get to where they are supposed to go. It’s a practical way to earn a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for years now.
