If you are looking for us, we are located at Plot No 118 on 2-6Th Cross Street. It is on the first floor in the rear flat, so you have to walk around a bit to find the entrance in Samayapuram. Porur is a busy area but our street is a bit more tucked away. Upmethod Mutual Benefit Nidhi Limited started because we saw a lot of people in Chennai needed a place to put their savings without a lot of fuss. The office is basically a converted flat, so it feels more like a house than a big bank. We have some chairs for people to sit while they wait for their turn. It gets a bit warm in the afternoons but we usually have the windows open to catch a breeze. We handle the usual nidhi business like small loans and savings accounts for the families living around here. Most of our members are from the nearby streets and they just drop in after finishing their shopping or on their way back from work. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It's just a few of us handling the ledgers and talking to people. Sometimes the stairs are a bit steep for the older folks but they manage.
