Umashankaer and Associates

Our office is at N:22, on Third Street in Padmanabha Nagar. It’s a pretty standard residential-feeling street, which suits us just fine. We aren't looking for a high-profile storefront or anything like that. Most days, it’s just the sound of keyboards clicking and the occasional argument over where a structural column should go. We’ve been at this for a while, so the office has that lived-in look with coffee mugs sitting on top of old blueprints. There isn't much formality here. If you come by, you’ll probably find Umashankaer or one of the associates buried under a pile of papers. We handle a lot of the technical side of building, making sure things actually stand up and follow the rules. It involves a lot of reading through codes and drawing precise lines. Padmanabha Nagar is a nice area to work in because it’s a bit away from the main road chaos. We have a small porch where we sometimes stand to get a bit of air when the indoor light gets too much. The walls are mostly bare except for some calendars and maybe a project schedule pinned up with magnets. We don’t do much in the way of advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or by just seeing our sign on the street. It’s a steady pace of work, and we like keeping it that way without too much fuss. Just a small group getting things done.
