Our office is on the third floor of the Sai Sriyas Krishna Building. You can find us at Plot No 72 on Poonamalle Road in Ekkatuthangal. It’s a busy part of the city, and being on the third floor gives us a bit of a view of the street below. We work on fire and security stuff, so there are always a lot of manuals and equipment lying around. The office isn’t particularly stylish, but it’s functional and has enough space for the team to sit. We spend a lot of time on the phone or out at different sites, so the office can feel empty some afternoons and then very crowded the next morning. We don’t have a lot of rules about how things should look, as long as the work gets done. Most of us have been in this industry for a while and we don't feel the need to use a lot of fancy jargon. We just talk about what needs to be fixed or installed. The traffic on Poonamalle Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, but we’ve learned the best times to leave. We keep a fridge stocked with cold water and try to stay cool during the hot months. It’s a straightforward job, and we just try to keep things organized so nothing gets missed. The elevator in the building is a bit slow sometimes, so some of us just take the stairs to get the blood pumping. It's just a regular workplace for us, nothing fancy.
