Turner International

Turner International has its office right on Bhujanga Rao Street in Saidapet. If you know Chennai, you know how busy Saidapet can get, especially when the rains start and the roads get all muddy. Our building is number 24 and it’s been there for a long time. The street is narrow and there are always scooters parked everywhere which makes it hard to bring a car through. Inside, it’s mostly just us working away under the ceiling fans. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some calendars on the wall and a lot of stacks of paper. The tea stall at the corner is basically our unofficial canteen because their coffee is better than what we make in the office. It gets really humid in the afternoons so we try to get the heavy work done before lunch. The windows look out onto the street so we hear all the vendors shouting and the buses going by constantly. It’s a lively place to be but it can be distracting when you’re trying to focus on a deadline. We’ve gotten used to the noise though. The floor tiles are a bit chipped in the corner of the main room and the door squeaks every time someone opens it. We just put a bit of oil on it now and then. It’s a simple spot for a simple team.
