Tpr Ceramics is located at 241/25 on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai. If you’ve ever been through Koyambedu, you know how hectic the traffic can get on that road. We are right in the middle of it. Our shop is full of boxes of tiles and different ceramic pieces. It’s often a bit cramped inside because we try to keep as much variety as we can on the floor. We spend a lot of time unboxing things for customers to look at and then taping them back up. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps us busy. The noise from the main road is constant, so we have to speak up a bit when we’re talking to people. We don't have any high-tech systems here; we mostly just use a notebook to keep track of what’s going out. My nephew helps out on the weekends when things get extra busy. People usually come to us because we’re easy to get to, even with the traffic. We don’t try to act like we’re some big showroom; it’s just a place to get your floor or wall tiles. Sometimes the colors of the tiles don't perfectly match the samples because of how they’re fired, and we try to let people know that. It’s just an honest business on a busy street. We’ve been here for years, and we plan on staying. It's a lot of work, but we like being part of the Koyambedu trade scene. It keeps us on our toes.
