Our shop is located at Shop No 49 and 50 in the L Express Avenue Mall, specifically in the Luxury Wing on the Ground Floor. We are right on Whites Road in Royapettah. Being in a big mall like Express Avenue is a bit different from a street shop. We have to follow the mall timings and keep everything looking tidy for the people walking through the Luxury Wing. The space we have is quite decent, covering two shop units, so there’s plenty of room for all the boots and shoes we keep on the floor. Most of our day is spent helping people try on different sizes and explaining the difference between the leathers. It’s a lot of standing around on hard floors, so we all wear the boots ourselves. The mall gets really busy on the weekends, but during the week, it’s a bit more relaxed. We spend the quiet times reorganizing the shelves or checking the backroom stock. It’s a nice enough place to work, especially with the air conditioning during the summer months in Royapettah. We don't have any big speeches to give about what we do; we just sell footwear to people who need it. The ground floor location is easy for people to find, right near the main walking paths. It's just us and the shoes, day in and day out, in a busy shopping center. We have been in this wing for a while now.
