Magnets India

Our shop is over at No. 20 on 4th Seaward Road. It’s a nice enough spot in Valmiki Nagar, right there in Thiruvanmiyur. You can sometimes smell the salt in the air when the wind is coming off the coast, which is just a short walk away. Inside Magnets India, it’s mostly just shelves and workbenches piled high with different types of magnets. We spend a lot of our morning just sorting through the new arrivals or packing up stuff that needs to go out to customers. It’s not a fancy place by any means, but it works for us. The floor is concrete and we have a couple of old fans that hum all day to keep the air moving. Traffic on the main road can be a headache during rush hour, so we usually try to get here early. Sometimes the local kids play cricket in the lane outside and we have to watch out when we’re moving the van. There is a small tea stall just down the street where we get our mid-morning fix. Most of the day is just routine work, checking sizes and making sure the counts are right. It’s a bit cramped when we get a large shipment, but we manage to find space. We’ve been here for several years now and the neighbors all know us. It is just a regular day-to-day operation here in Thiruvanmiyur.
