We operate out of the 8th floor of D Block in Halls Towers. That’s at number 33 Halls Road in the Egmore area of Chennai. It’s an older building, but it has a lot of character and is quite well-known around here by the locals. Being up on the 8th floor gives us a bit of a view of the surrounding streets, though we spend most of our time looking at files and documents. As an association for chemists and druggists, there’s always someone calling or stopping by with a question about some new rule. The elevators in Halls Towers can be a bit slow, so we often tell people to give themselves a few extra minutes when coming to see us. The office is usually filled with the sound of ringing phones and the hum of the old ceiling fans. Egmore is a busy part of Chennai, so there’s never a dull moment outside on the streets. We’ve got a few desks pushed together and a small area for meetings that usually has a stack of old ledgers sitting on the side. It’s a busy atmosphere, especially when there are new regulations to discuss with the members. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some tea bags in the corner for anyone who needs a drink. Everyone knows each other pretty well, and we’ve been through many cycles of changes in the industry together.
