You can find us on Thangavelu Street, right on Thirumalai Road in T Nagar. We are directly across from Vidyodaya School, which means every morning and afternoon the street is full of cars and parents dropping off their kids. It’s a very lively spot to have a shop. We deal with flowers all day long, so there are always buckets of water and leaves on the floor that need sweeping. The smell is great, but the work is actually quite messy. We have to be here very early, before the sun is fully up, to take delivery of the fresh blooms. If we are late, the best stuff is gone. Our shop isn't big, just a small space at number 1 where we keep everything. T Nagar is a busy place and it can get quite loud with all the horns and people talking. We spend a lot of time trimming stems and making sure everything stays cool so it doesn't wilt in the heat. There’s no fancy air conditioning here, just a few fans going all the time. Sometimes people just walk in because they saw the colors from the street while they were waiting for the bus. We’ve been at this same location for a long time. We know most of the other shopkeepers nearby. It’s a lot of standing on your feet, but we are used to it by now. It is hard work but okay.
