Taj Trading Company

Our shop, Taj Trading Company, is located at 3/2, Vannier Street. It’s one of those narrow streets where you really have to watch where you’re walking because there’s so much going on. We’ve been here for a long time, and the building definitely shows its age, but it works for us. Trading is a simple business at its core, though the details can get a bit tiring. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and checking what needs to go out. The neighbors are all doing the same thing, so there’s a lot of shouting back and forth across the lane. We don't have any fancy technology to show off. Just some old ledgers, a couple of desks, and a lot of stock piled up towards the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like we’re playing a game of Tetris just to find something in the back. Customers come by, some we’ve known for decades, and we sit for a bit before getting down to business. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a glossy magazine. It’s dusty, the fans are a bit noisy, and there’s always a glass of tea sitting somewhere. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure things get where they need to go. It’s a steady rhythm that hasn't changed much over the years. We keep the doors open and just take it one shipment at a time.
