Tailor Fashions Ltd.

If you go down No. 23 Poonamallee High Road in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar, you will find us tucked away near the main flow of traffic. The noise from the road is constant, but inside the shop, it is mostly the sound of sewing machines clicking away. We have been at Tailor Fashions Ltd. for years, and the floor is usually covered in little snips of thread and scrap fabric by the time we close up. We do a lot of measuring and cutting, trying to get things to fit right, which is harder than it looks. Sometimes a customer brings in a photo of something they want, and we have to figure out how to make it work with the cloth they bought. It gets crowded in here during the festival seasons because everyone wants their stuff finished at the same time. We have a few big tables where we spread out the patterns, and sometimes the chalk marks get a bit messy. The iron stays hot all day long, so the air gets pretty humid in the back corner. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique with soft music; it is just a place where people come to get their clothes made or fixed. We spend most of our time looking down at the needles and making sure the seams are straight enough. It is just a regular day-to-day job for us here on the High Road.
