Southern India Aquaculture

Southern India Aquaculture is based at No. 2 Dr. Narasiman Road. We’re on North Boag Road, quite close to the Bharathi Raja hospital in T.Nagar. It’s a busy part of Chennai, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside our door. Our work is mainly focused on the aquaculture trade, so we deal with a lot of supplies for fish and shrimp farming. The office is a bit old-fashioned. We have wooden desks and shelves full of old files and trade magazines. It’s not a very big space, but it’s where we coordinate everything. Most of the time, we’re on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on shipments coming into the port. We don't keep much live stock here in T.Nagar; it’s more of an administrative and distribution hub. It gets quite humid in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. Sometimes customers drop in to talk about their ponds or ask about feed prices. We usually have some tea and sit around the small table in the corner to discuss things. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, despite the busy street just a few feet away. We’ve been operating from this building for a long time, and we know the neighborhood like the back of our hand.
