Surya Exporters

You can find us over at No. 21 4th Main Road, right near Nalli Silks in Adyar. It’s a pretty busy part of town so there’s always noise from the street coming into the office windows. Surya Exporters has been operating from this spot for a while now. Usually, the day starts with a lot of emails and phone calls about where the shipping containers are located. Adyar is a good spot because everything is close by, but parking can be a real headache for the staff and the visitors. We spend a lot of time looking at manifests and making sure the addresses are right. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place for work. We have a few old desks and a printer that jams if you put too much paper in it at once. Sometimes we go out for a quick bite near the silk shops when things get slow in the middle of the day. It gets hot in the afternoons but the ceiling fan helps a little bit. We handle all sorts of goods going out to different countries across the ocean. It’s mostly just paperwork and coordination with the drivers. We aren't trying to be some big corporate giant. We’re just a small group of people working out of this building in Adyar. Most of our day is spent making sure the labels are straight and the weights are correct on the forms. It’s steady work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down and we head home.
