Sujatha Paints

We are over at 1, Appaswamy Garden 2nd Street in Old Washermenpet. It’s an old part of the city, and the streets can be a bit narrow and crowded. Our shop is right on the corner, and it’s usually easy to spot because of the paint cans we have out. We’ve been in Old Washermenpet for a long time now. The building itself is older, but it works for us. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with every kind of paint you can think of. We spend a lot of time talking to local contractors or people trying to fix up their own homes. There’s usually a bit of dust and the smell of enamel in the air. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot where people come because they know us. The 2nd street is usually busy with people walking by. We don’t have any fancy computer systems for matching colors; we mostly do it by eye or with the standard charts. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy containers and helping people load their carts. We keep things simple here. There’s a small stool behind the counter where we sit when it’s not too busy. We just focus on keeping the stock full and helping the neighbors get the right shade for their walls. It’s a steady, daily grind that we’ve grown to enjoy. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow street, so we have to move fast to unload everything.
