Our small office is located at No 15 on Post Office Street in the Parrys district. It is a very old part of the city with a lot of character and a lot of history in every building. Being on Post Office Street means we are right in the thick of the daily trade. The office is situated in one of those older buildings with narrow doorways and steep stairs that can be tricky. Inside, it is quite cramped because we have a lot of files and books that we need for our shipping work. We have a couple of desks squeezed into the space and a few chairs for when we have to sit down and go through the long paperwork. The air is often filled with the smell of old paper and the sound of the street outside. We do not have any air conditioning, so we just keep the windows open and let the fans run all day long. It gets quite hot, especially in the afternoons when the sun is hitting the side of the building. Most of our day is spent talking to people or filling out forms for different shipments. It is not a very exciting job, but it is what we do and we have been doing it for years now. We know the other business owners on the street and we often stop to chat for a minute when we are out getting a snack or a drink. It is a tight-knit community here.
