S. P. K. Company

Locating S. P. K. Company can be a bit of a puzzle for someone who isn't from around here. Our address is listed as New 2, Old 57 on Strotten Muthiah Mudali Street, which often confuses the delivery drivers. This street has a long history and even longer names, but for us, it’s just where we show up every morning. We have been in this same spot for quite a while, watching the buildings around us change while we stay pretty much the same. The shop is narrow and filled with things we have collected over the years, making it feel a bit cramped but comfortable in a way. Mudali Street is always buzzing with activity, and you have to be careful not to get bumped by a passing rickshaw when you step out the door. We handle various trading tasks at S. P. K. Company, mostly just sitting at our old wooden desks and keeping track of everything in ledgers. The fans overhead creak as they spin, and the walls are covered with old calendars. It’s not the kind of place that would win any awards for design, but it has everything we need to run our business. We know the other shop owners on Strotten Muthiah Mudali Street, and we often share a cup of tea or talk about the weather. It’s a community here, and being at New 2 Old 57 makes us feel like a permanent part of the local landscape.
