Star Electronics

Being in Mylapore feels different than other parts of the city. Star Electronics is tucked away on Appu Street, at New No. 124. It used to be No. 45, so if you’re using an old map, you might get a little lost. This part of the neighborhood is always full of life, with people heading to the temple or just walking through the narrow lanes. Our shop is a bit cramped because we have stacks of electronics and spare parts everywhere. We’ve been here long enough that the regulars know exactly where to find us. It’s a lot of manual work, testing circuits and making sure things are actually working before they go out. We don't really have a big storefront with flashing lights. It’s more of a traditional workshop feel where the smell of solder is always in the air. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the humidity, and we usually have the radio on in the background. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve known each other for years. We handle the repairs and the sales without much drama. When things get busy, we just put our heads down and get through the pile. It’s an honest way to spend the day, even if the space is a bit tight. We like the community here in Mylapore, and being on Appu Street feels like home for the business. We don't try to be fancy, we just focus on the repairs and the parts people need.
