Standard Poly Pack

Standard Poly Pack is situated at No. 51 New Street in the Mannady area of George Town. We are quite close to the Post Office, which makes it easy for us to send out small mailers. This part of George Town is very crowded and the streets are quite narrow. If you are bringing a big vehicle, it can be a bit of a struggle to get to No. 51. We work with plastic packaging and poly bags. Our shop is full of rolls of material and the sound of cutting machines. It’s a noisy, busy place. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most of our business comes from the other shops in Mannady who need bags for their customers. We spend our days counting stock and making sure the machines are oiled. It’s hot in the summer because the building is old, but we have a few big fans that help. We’ve been here for years, and most of the neighbors know us by name. We aren't looking to become a giant corporation. We just want to provide the packaging people need. The floors are concrete and usually covered in little bits of plastic. We sweep up every evening before we lock the heavy metal shutters. It’s honest work and we like being in the heart of the city, even if it’s loud. It is just a normal shop.
