Jmj Exports is right there at No. 36d North Parade Road in St Thomas Mount. It’s a great spot because of all the history in the area, though we mostly just focus on the traffic and the noise of the road. Our office is a simple one, located in a building that’s seen a lot of years. We spend most of our mornings going through emails and making sure our export schedules are still on track. Being on North Parade Road means we’re easy to find, but it also means it can be loud outside. We don’t have any polished corporate brochures; we just talk to people plainly and tell them what we can do. Most of the work involves coordinating with different people to make sure the goods move from point A to point B without too much trouble. Sometimes there are delays at the customs office or a truck breaks down, and we just have to deal with it as it comes. It’s not always easy, and there are days when we wonder why we chose this line of work, but then a shipment goes out smoothly and it feels alright again. We’re just a small group of people working out of St Thomas Mount, trying to make a living by moving goods across borders. It’s practical, sometimes frustrating, but always keeps us on our toes. We don’t promise anything impossible; we just try our best to get the boxes moved.
