St Johns English School

You can find St Johns English School over on II Cross Street, not far from the CPWD quarters in Besant Nagar. It is a pretty well-known spot in this part of the city. Being close to the coast means we get a bit of a breeze sometimes, which is nice during the hotter months in Chennai. The school itself is a busy place. We have got kids running around the halls and teachers trying to keep things organized. It is not always perfectly tidy, especially after lunch break, but we do our best to keep it decent. We do not go in for fancy mission statements or polished brochures. Instead, we just focus on getting through the lessons and making sure the students are actually learning something. The street outside gets quite crowded during drop-off and pick-up times, with scooters and cars everywhere. We try to help manage the traffic so the neighbors do not get too annoyed with us. Inside the gates, it is mostly just the sound of voices and the occasional bell. Our staff has been together for a while, so we all know how the place runs. We have our small office where the paperwork gets done and the occasional parent comes in to chat about their child. It is just a regular local school doing what it can for the families around Besant Nagar. It is a lot of work, but it is what we do every day without much fuss.
