If you know No. 180 Mount Road, then you know where we are. It’s a busy stretch of road, and there’s never a quiet moment with all the cars and bikes zooming past. We spend our days dealing with tyres and wheels, and honestly, it’s a lot of heavy lifting and getting our hands dirty. The shop floor is usually a bit messy with tools and old rubber, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. There’s just a small area to sit and a lot of equipment for the wheels. Sometimes the heat on Mount Road is really something, especially in the middle of the day, so we take our breaks whenever we can find a bit of shade. It’s a straightforward business. We see a lot of the same faces coming back when they have trouble with their vehicles. We’ve got the machines for balancing and all that, and they make a lot of noise. It’s the kind of place where you can smell the rubber as soon as you walk in. Most of us have been working with tyres for years, so we don't really think about it much anymore. It’s just the job. We keep the doors open to let the air move, even if it brings in the dust from the street. It’s a real working shop, nothing more. We just want to get you back on the road.
